AMERICA BUILT TO LAST

In their landmark book Built to Last, Jim Collins and Jerry Porras introduced one of the most powerful concepts in modern leadership: the “BHAG”. A Big Hairy Audacious Goal.

A true BHAG is not a modest target or incremental improvement. It is a bold, long-term PURPOSE so large and compelling that it stretches an entire organization or nation beyond what currently seems possible. 

It becomes the organizing principle that aligns effort, inspires sacrifice and guides decisions for generations.

America now faces its defining BHAG Moment.

Our BHAG is this:

End the Global Income Inequality Crisis in 100 years or less.

This is not a slogan. It is a sacred national mission.

Something that wasn’t possible before AI.

Our BHAG requires two simultaneous operations:

‘Operation Hummingbird’…. the strategy to build The Dream Feeder startup and revolutionize modern education and help humanity feed its own dreams at scale.

‘Operation: Fix Congress First’… the hard political work of reclaiming our republic from a broken two-party system that has prioritized power over the people’s work.

Together, these two operations give us the capacity to do what military force and partisan politics alone cannot: replace cycles of war, extremism and inequality with shared opportunity and renewed purpose.

By choosing this BHAG, America gives herself and the world a new frame for making decisions.

When we have elections, we will no longer default to the lesser of two evils. We will choose leaders best equipped to advance our BHAG. 

When we consider another war, we will ask whether it serves our BHAG or wastes the resources and lives that could be used to build real peace and shared prosperity. 

When political divisions threaten to tear us apart, we will measure them against our BHAG and recognize that many are just distractions from the larger work we must do. 

When we confront America’s affordability crisis, we will understand that the only sustainable path to lower American costs… is broader opportunity and greater peace and stability in the world.

Through the success of our BHAG.

Our BHAG does not require us to be perfect. It requires us to be purposeful.

It does not promise easy answers. It demands that we rise above small thinking and short-term games.
